Crystal City is an urban village located in the southeastern portion of Arlington County, Virginia, and one of the key locations for Amazon in the new National Landing neighborhood. Crystal City is bounded by 12th Street on the north, 27th Street on the south, US1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) on the west, and just east of Crystal Drive to the east.
Dominated above ground by office buildings and high-rise apartment and condo buildings, the city makes significant use of underground corridors for retail spaces and travel between stores, offices, and residences. A large number of defense contractors are located in Crystal City, including the US Department of Labor, the United States Marshals Service and Pentagon satellite offices. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport runs along the eastern portion of Crystal City.
Amazon’s Crystal City presence will begin with leased space at 241 18th Street South and 1800 S. Bell in 2019 as it develops sites purchased from JBG Smith at Pen Place and a portion of Metropolitan Park in Pentagon City, where it will settle permanently by 2022. In late 2020, Amazon will add additional space at 1770 Crystal Drive.
