Alcova Heights’ name is an acronym for ALexandria COunty VA, (now Arlington County), coined by real estate developer J. Cloyd Byars.
Until Amazon HQ2 inspired creation of National Landing, Alcova Heights wasn’t on most homebuyers’ wish lists. But sales activity in this neighborhood is being boosted by price increases within the core of National Landing, an influx of new workers and investor interest.
Alcova Heights’ 142 acres are home to approximately 784 residences, many of which are single family homes characterized by large lot sizes and popular architectural styles that include farmhouses, Cape Cod, bungalow and Williamsburg.
Neighborhood amenities in Alcova Heights include a 13-acre park on George Mason Drive and the Foreign Service Institute, which is located on the former Arlington Hall property.
Neighborhoods to the east are the Arlington Heights Historic District and Westmont. Alcova Heights is bordered by Rte 50, S George Mason Drive and Columbia Pike, making commutes in any direction easy.
