About Glencarlyn

Glencarlyn is a residential “village” in Arlington County, Virginia, created in 1888 as a summer getaway for Washingtonians. Glencarlyn is one of the first planned, cooperative, residential communities in the country. Bounded by Arlington Boulevard (Hwy 50) on the north, Carlin Springs Road on the west, 5th Street South on the south, and Glencarlyn Park on the east.

Glencarlyn Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Neighborhood amenities include Glencarlyn Park and Glencarlyn Library.
