About North Ridge

North Ridge is an Alexandria, Virginia neighborhood closely associated with the adjacent Rosemont neighborhood, though North Ridge is much larger in size. North Ridge is bounded by Four Mile Run and S Glebe Rd. on the north, W Glebe Rd. On the northeast, Russell Rd. on the east, W Braddock Rd. on the south and southwest, and Woodbine Street, Dogwood Drive and N Quaker Lane on the west. The community crosses I-395 at Shirlington and extends north to Jennie Dean Park, nearly to the W&OD Trailhead at the intersection of S Four Mile Run Drive and Shirlington Rd. at its northwest tip. Adjoining neighborhoods are Arna Valley (north), Arlandria, Potomac West and Del Ray (east), Fairlington (west) and Rosemont (south).

Amenities include Monticello Park, George Mason Park and ball field, Robert Leider Park and Beverley Park (“The Pit”).

North Ridge’s residential subdivisions include the Park Fairfax condominium complex, Beverly Hills, Beverly Estates, Braddock Heights, Jefferson Park, Monticello Park, Timber Branch and Oak Crest. The residential components were primarily developed from the 1930’s through the 1960’s.
